    To Semarang citizen, you will not be sleepy. Once you stroll around Pleburan, you will witness the catena of coffee carts. There are plenty of coffee carts which will captivate every people passing through. Wondering will pop in your thoughts as you feel thirsty in Semarang’s heat.

Kopling or Kopi Keliling is overflowing currently. It seems unprecedented to have a coffee with a cup-style like a coffee shop, easy to go, and affordable. In the middle of the city, nearby campus, and government offices. Sweet, creamy, and fresh. On the average, they start from 8k! It will facilitate Semarang citizen, who needs caffeine, in a break hour, won’t it?

Mentioning them all one by one is taking more pages, even improbable because undoubtedly there are untouchable brands and others will come afterwards. These are several brands which you will find there such as Kresna, Kopi+, Atlas, More, Disaat, Sekian Kopi, etc. The terminology to call a barista is driver, for a certain brand. Let’s have a look at each perspective of driver or barista of each brand below

Kresna’s barista “Kurang lebih saya sudah 3 minggu sebagai penjual kopi Kresna. Enak ga enaknya berjualan kopi Kresna tergantung rasa bersyukur masing-masing. Saya senang menjual kopi Kresna ketika capek tapi ramai pembeli. Sebaliknya, ketika hujan datang membuat sepi pembeli.”

A barista of Kopi+ “Lokasi penjualan sudah ditentukan, kalau sudah habis saya tambah lagi (restock). Saya berkuliah dan kerja part time. Kalau sore hari gini ramai pembeli, malam juga”

Most of them stated that working as a barista or driver felt pleasure and the choices of area to stay is regardful the surroundings.

Furthermore a perspective from Rei, one of kopling's owner, “Kopi keliling ini franchise dari Jakarta, baru ada 1 di Kota Semarang sejak Agustus 2024. Saya melihat opportunity dan suka kopi tapi belum mendalaminya, mungkin dengan berjualan kopi bisa sambil mendalami kopi. Setelah saya mapping untuk tempat mangkal, prospek wilayah terbesar disini karena kita perlu memperhatikan biaya parkir mungkin kalau ada dan lingkungan pastinya. Saya mau pelayanan Sekian Kopi ini nomor satu, lalu rasa, dan feedback dari konsumen. Feedbacknya seperti permintaan menu baru dan menambah unit.” (October 15, Imam Barjo SH street).

Beside knowing drivers or baristas’ and owner’s perspective, here are instances of consumer’s opinions.

Adinda, a student college nearby said "Menurut aku praktis bgt karna ga harus dtg ke toko untuk beli kopi yg rasanya ga kalah enaknya, kita bisa beli dalam keadaan buru2 untuk minum diperjalanan. Trus dari rasa menurut aku enak banget cuma gak estetik aja kaya di coffe shop, tapi untuk rasa menurut aku enak bgt. Dan dari segi harga terjangkau bgt karna mungkin mereka ga bayar sewa tempat ya, modal di sepedanya itu. Jadi menurutku kopi keliling sangat mempermudah kita yang mau ngopi saat buru2"

In addition, David, a consumer said "Kalo brand Disaat kurleb enak sih dan murah. Karena dia juga punyanya Dikala salah satu coffeshopnya juga. Cuma rasanya yauda kopi susu gitu aja karena murah dan kalo aku liat buat orang kantoran/ mageran yang males ditempat rame jadi take away. Cuma kalo aku liat recreate kaya kopi jago di jakarta yang pake gerobak keliling juga. Untuk kekurangannya wajar sih, karena harga juga segitu."

After looking at several brands, perspectives, and opinions there is a main cause that we can conclude here. Opportunity is a main cause of this phenomenon. An owner views a chance to establish a mobile cart coffee which will facilitate citizen who need a cup of coffee to slurp. The presence of Kopling gives rise to job field, it can help society’s finance by providing them a job.
