Ketegangan dengan Iran meningkat, Israel latih serangan jarak jauh - ANTARA News
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami warned Israel against launching retaliatory strikes against his country. Previously, Iran launched missiles at Israel after Israel stepped up attacks in Lebanon against Hezbollah, which is an ally of Tehran.
Hossein also said that Iran could penetrate Israel's defenses. “We say to you (Israel) that if you commit aggression against any point, we will painfully attack the same point against you,” Hossein Salami said in a televised speech on Thursday, October 17, 2024, as reported by Reuters.
Israel has shown no signs of easing its military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza despite repeated calls for a ceasefire and has promised to punish Iran for its October 1 attack.
Iran and its allies in the Middle East - Lebanon's Hezbollah, Hamas, Yemen's Houthis and armed groups in Iraq - say they will not back down in the face of relentless pressure from the region's most advanced and powerful military.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, “Iran's actions have been completed, unless the Israeli regime decides to take further retaliation.”
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps on Tuesday (Oct. 1) threatened to launch a “devastating strike” against Israel if it retaliates against Iran's missile attacks.
“If the Zionist regime reacts to Iran's operations, it will face a devastating attack,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement reported by Fars news agency.
The IRGC said Iran's missile strike was “in accordance with the United Nations Charter.”
They said the missile strikes were carried out “after a period of restraint” following an “attack on the sovereignty” of Iran, a reference to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran, in late July.
The IRGC said the missile strikes targeted “three military bases” around Tel Aviv, as well as air and radar bases, adding that “90 percent” of the missiles “hit the target”.
