DPD RI member Alfiansyah Komeng made a joke during the plenary meeting for the election of MPR leadership for the 2024-2029 period from DPD elements, Wednesday (2 October 2024) evening.

Komeng made this joke when the son of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Supratman Andi Agtas, Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman, proposed himself as a candidate for leadership of the MPR from the DPD element.

Abcandra was the last candidate to nominate himself and submitted support files from a number of DPD members to DPD Deputy Chairperson Tamsil Linrung as chairman of the meeting.

They called Abcandra a young senator and therefore suitable to be a candidate for leadership of the MPR RI from the DPD element.

Responding to this statement, Tamsil emphasized that the existence of young people is very necessary and deserves to be given the opportunity to compete. "You also need young people," said Tamsil.

Hearing the conversation, Komeng immediately made a joke through the loudspeaker which made the senators in the meeting room laugh.

"Anak Muda Perlu, Jangan Sampai yang Daftar Anakonda" Komeng said Abruptly.

How serious is Maarten Paes' injury?

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Team suffered a heavy blow ahead of a crucial match against Bahrain in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone. Maarten Paes, the mainstay goalkeeper for the Indonesian National Team who also plays for the Major League Soccer (MLS) club FC Dallas, reportedly suffered a wrist injury.

 

This surprising news was announced by FC Dallas via their official social media accounts on Thursday (10/10/2024). "Goalkeeper Maarten Paes is out tonight due to a minor wrist injury," the club wrote on the X platform.

 

This injury occurred at a very unfortunate time, right when Paes was scheduled to join the Indonesian National Team squad after completing his last match with FC Dallas against the Portland Timbers. Instead, Jimmy Maurer was trusted to guard the FC Dallas goal, while Antonio Carrera was promoted to the bench.

 

Before suffering the injury, Paes had expressed his optimism about the Indonesian National Team's chances in the international arena. "I am sure we can advance to the 2026 World Cup and will make the Indonesian people proud," Paes said in a previous interview with FCDallas.com.

 

Although Paes' injury is a serious obstacle, the Indonesian national team coach is expected to immediately make a decision regarding Paes' replacement to face Bahrain on Thursday, as well as the match against China five days later.

 

The presence of Paes, who has played twice for the Indonesian national team, will certainly be greatly missed. However, this injury also opens up an opportunity for other goalkeepers to show off and prove themselves on the international stage. The Indonesian football community is now waiting for further news regarding Paes' condition and the strategy that will be taken by the Indonesian national team coaching team to face the tough challenges ahead.

On September 21, Dieter Reiter the Mayor of Munich officially opened Oktoberfest by tapping the first beer keg and shouting, "O’zapft is!" (It’s tapped!). This year, visitors can enjoy special Oktoberfest beers served in a Maß, the signature one-liter beer mug.

Laughter and traditional music fill the air as visitors don traditional outfits, like dirndls and lederhosen. They join the festive atmosphere while enjoying fresh pretzels, sausages, and roasted chicken. The aroma of these delicious dishes fills the air as cold beer flows continuously from the barrels.

Morgan, a traveling YouTuber who attended the event, shared his experience: “There are tons of other fun things like rides through haunted houses, Carnival Funhouses, crazy things that would never exist or be allowed any longer in the United States. Last night, the Stade de France hosted a magnificent event to formally begin the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which the city will host for the third time. A spectacular exhibition of French history and culture was showcased at the event, which included an aerial show over the Seine River and the theme "Light of the World." 

The Olympic cauldron, modeled like the Eiffel Tower, was lit by tennis legend Rafael Nadal after more than 200 countries took part in the athlete procession. With all sustainable materials and 100% renewable energy, Paris 2024 is expected to be the greenest Olympics ever.

32 sports will be competing, with track and field, swimming, and gymnastics where Simone Biles and other celebrities compete being among the highlights. Beach volleyball near the Eiffel Tower is one of the famous Parisian venues where events will take place.

Despite being exercise app, as its name "social medium" provides us many features to interact with peers like giving kudos, commenting, even mentioning name on post.

Besides providing sophisticated features, there is a trend called Strava Jockey, SMH. This peculiar service provides consumers by giving them a result of running or exercises. Including its moving time, steps, and average pace, Strava Jockey is being hot social phenomenon. This trend is usually used to increase profile's history without doing the exercise or lamentably get validation.

Official Coach Herbalife Run 2024, Andre Caprina, argued that "saat ini olahraga tak hanya sebagai tren gaya hidup, tapi juga untuk ajang pamer. Apalagi bisa menggunakan outfit dari brand tertentu dan mencapai hasil yang lebih dari teman lain, tentu menjadi suatu kebanggaan.". In his argument refers to society's lifestyle in running as well as outfit and higher accomplishment than peers. Contemplating this trend realizes us to do real exercise. There are obviously many benefits of running, such as can significantly lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, stress reduction by helping boost your mood, improving knee health, improving memory

This ridiculous trend refers to FOMO and narcissism which is still roaming in this era. However, we better be wiser society and start delaying gratification. With delaying gratification and starting real action teach us to respect our own effort. We will be grateful to authentication, won't we?

Minimum Wage in 2025 Will Rise? Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Leaks

The government is discussing the possibility of a minimum wage increase for 2025. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the details of the 2025 minimum wage increase need to wait for data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

“The UMP (provincial minimum wage) cycle is in November. So, we will wait for the results of the report from BPS first,” said Airlangga at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Office, Jakarta, Thursday.

Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso also explained that the minimum wage discussion takes place every year in October-November. Currently, the government will determine the 2025 minimum wage.

Susiwijono said that the minimum wage calculation will still be carried out in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 51 of 2023 concerning Amendments to PP 36/2021 concerning Wages. There are three variables that are the basis for calculating the minimum wage increase, namely inflation, economic growth, and certain indices, but it is not certain how much. What is clear is that the government wants the 2025 minimum wage determination not to cause any turmoil.
“We understand that there are regulations, PPs, everything, but also the reality is that we understand the needs of our fellow workers, laborers, so we will find a way out, how in terms of regulation, governance we can still comply, but on the other hand the real needs that are approximately needed to increase how much we can portray,” Susiwijono said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Wednesday (2/10/2024).

Susiwijono also explained that Airlangga wants the government to discuss this wage increase comprehensively on existing regulations and the calculation of next year's minimum wage, especially to spur the economy and the interests of employers, workers, and the middle class.
“Because the government also needs middle-class workers to have purchasing power so that their spending is high. Economic growth is from here,” he said.

October 1, 2024 - The election and determination of elected members of the DPR RI for the 2024-2029 period took place in the plenary session room, kompleks parlemen senayan. A total of 580 members of the DRI RI were officially elected and inaugurated, and Puan Maharani from the PDI Perjuangan faction was again appointed as the Speaker of the DRI RI for the period 2024-2029.for the 2024-2029 period.

The decision was made at a plenary meeting of the DPR, chaired by interim DPR leader Guntur Sasono. sesuai dengan hasil rapat konsultasi pimpinan sementara DPR dan perwakilan partai politik tanggal 1 oktober 2024, bahwa pimpinan DPR adalah satu, Puan Maharini dari fraksi PDIP aebagai ketua DPR RI," said Guntur.

In addition to Puan from the PDI faction, the Paripurna meeting also appointed four deputy chairmen from various factions, namely Adies Kadir from the Golkar Party faction, Sufmi Dasco from the Gerindra Party faction, Saan Mustopa from the NasDem Party faction, and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal from the PKB faction.

Guntur explained that the determination of the names of the DPR RI for 2024-2029 was decided at a consultation meeting on Tuesday afternoon between the interim DPR and representatives of political parties, and was based on the provisions of Article 427D in the UU MPR, DPR, DPD, DPRD  or UU MD3 .

In her first speech after being elected, Puan Maharani said that the leadership of the DPR RI will lead collectively by prioritizing cooperation, mutual cooperation, and good communication to achieve togetherness. “Kami pimpinan DPR RI akan memimpin dan mengutamakan kerja bersama, gotong royong membangun komunikasi lintas fraksi, lintas komisi dan badan DPR RI untuk mencapai kebersamaan. Kebersamaan Bukan berarti semua kerjasama akan tetapi untuk bangsa dan negara,” Puan said at the Kompleks parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta.

Puan Maharani's return as Speaker of the DPR RI is expected to bring positive changes and ensure that the aspirations of the people are truly represented.
