Thae also questioned why she did not receive other awards, such as “Popular Vote," “Country Power of the Year" and “Best National Costume,” which were won by other contestants. She felt that her National Costume was the best. She was disappointed and cried because she could not carry her horse and carriage costume to the stage, which weighed 200kg.
“What makes her so delusional?” said Nawat during a press conference in Bangkok, Thailand, as quoted by Khaosod English, Monday (28/10/2024). “If she wants first place and has to earn it, I suggest she makes her own beauty pageant so she can win every title.”

Miss Grand International Organization (MGIO) finally released an official statement regarding Thae Su Nyein's status. Through its official Instagram account, MGIO announced Thae Su Nyein was stripped of her title as 2nd runner-up of Miss Grand International 2024.
“MGIO has decided to revoke the title of 2nd Runner-Up from Miss Grand Myanmar 2024, Ms. Thae Su Nyein due to Inappropriate behavior and actions that violated several regulations,” wrote in the announcement released on Monday (28/10/2024).
In addition, MGIO also cut ties with the Myanmar franchise and banned Htoo Ant Lwin from being involved in the event again. Miss Grand International said the director's actions did not reflect the values of sportsmanship and business credibility that they uphold. Lwin then accused MGI president Nawat Itsaragrisil of selling the crown for USD 25,000. However, the accusation was firmly denied by Nawat.
